Course on Geriatric/Elderly Care
Objective of the Course
The percentage of people above 60 years in India is expected to be 20% by 2050. India is, therefore, experiencing a demographic transition, which will have an impact on the individual, family, community, society at large and the nation. In pursuance with the National Policy on Older Persons (NPOP), the objective is to develop a dedicated cadre of Geriatric Caregivers and generate skilled manpower, with focused attention on training for intervention in the family and community settings.
Target Group
The main target groups are the functionaries of Old Age Homes/ Day Care Centres / State Government/NGOs/ policy makers working in the field of ageing/ students in Schools/colleges/Universities and the persons willing to work as geriatric care-givers.
